Former Member of Parliament Svend Robinson was in the Comox Valley last night to speak about mental health and the restorative justice system.
Robinson presented the 5th annual Iona Campagnolo lecture and spoke about his work and his personal experience with mental health issues and the justice system.
He says the stigma around mental illness is still a huge barrier stopping people from seeking help.
Robinson says his hope is that by openly speaking about his own experience – people suffering will be encouraged to seek help.
