Special Olympians from across the region are in Corner Brook, Newfoundland this week for the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games.
Leslie Thornley with Team BC says a group of 126 athletes will be representing the province at the Games. 8 of those athletes and one coach are from Powell River.
Thornley says the athletes have been working hard to prepare for the games. Some of the sports they will be competing in include floor hockey, alpine skiing, figure skating and speed skating, among others.
The Games run tomorrow through Saturday. For updates, rosters and scheduling, visit specialolympics.bc.ca/team-bc-2016.
