Today marks the start of Daylight Saving Time in BC, and it’s also a good time to check your emergency kits.
George Doerksen with the Comox Valley Regional District says emergency preparedness crews recommend you check your kit twice a year.
He says it’s a good idea to rotate out old non-perishable food and bottled water.

Doerksen says it’s also good to make sure you have spare eye glasses, medications, and a medication list. He adds it’s also good to include supplies for pets including food, water and medication they might need.
