Distracted drivers nabbed by RCMP in the Comox Valley

More than 90 Comox Valley drivers received tickets in a recent Distracted Driving Enforcement Campaign by the Comox Valley RCMP.

Mounties set up throughout the Valley from March 15th to 19th as part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

Constable Rob Gardner says over a five-day span, 91 drivers were issued tickets, including one driver who was caught twice in the same day.

Gardner says it’s important that drivers educate themselves and are fully aware of the laws regarding using electronics while driving.

Gardner says if you find it too tempting to have your cell phone near you, put it in the trunk or somewhere else out of reach.

He adds Mounties will be continuing distracted driving enforcement throughout the year.
