Putting together a social plan for Powell River

The Tapping the Groundswell conference is taking place in Powell River on April 1st and 2nd.

Planner Mark Brown says the goal of the event is to put together a social plan for the future of Powell River.

Some issues covered will include homelessness, and child poverty.

Brown says this year’s conference will build off ideas that came up at last year’s Groundwell event.

Brown says there will be guest speakers, including Dr. Elsie Paul and Adrian Montani from First Call Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition.

More information can be found through the conference’s Facebook page or at tappingthegroundswell.ca.

Tapping the Groundswell takes place on April 1st and 2nd at the Powell River Rec Complex.
