The provincial A GP for Me initiative that was launched in 2014 is set to wrap up by June this year.
Dr. Jane Bishop is the lead physician for A GP for Me on the Sunshine Coast and says more people on the coast already had a general physician compared to others in B.C.
She feels that even though they weren’t able to appoint everyone a family doctor there were many positives that came out of this project.
Bishop points out, there is a website that’s available for people who need a general physician, which includes a list of doctors accepting new patients.
