The BC government is welcoming a commitment from the US and Canadian Governments to come to a new softwood lumber agreement.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Barack Obama issued a joint statement this week, saying both sides were committed to having a new deal in place this fall.
Minister of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations, Steve Thomson says he’s pleased the federal government continues to make finding a negotiated solution to softwood lumber trade a top priority.
The previous softwood lumber agreement expired in October of last year.
