Powell River RCMP have arrested a man in connection with a firearms incident earlier this week.
On Tuesday afternoon, at 2:02 pm, a report was made to the police of a man firing rounds from a firearm on the beach between Beach Gardens and Masters Road.
When police arrived, they found the man still holding the rifle, with him admitting to firing several rounds on the hillside.
The 34-year-old was arrested for both Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
No one was harmed during the firing, with the man set to appear in Provinical Court on September 12 this year.
