Stage Two water restrictions still in effect for Powell River

Despite the sprinkling of rain, stage two water restrictions are still in effect in Powell River.

The restrictions went into effect on Wednesday June 7, with the City allowing only one hose to be used at a time.

For even-numbered addresses, you are allowed to water the lawn on even calendar days from midnight to nine in the morning, with odd-numbered addresses allowed to water their lawns at the same time on odd-numbered days.

Some exceptions while the restrictions are in effect include outdoor washing if it’s only used for health and safety, or to prep a surface for painting in private areas.

The City adds that residents living in private areas are also allowed to wash their vehicle, by using a hose equipped with a spring-loaded shut-off.
