You’ll be able to submit logo designs for the qathet Museum next month, which is holding a contest for a new look.
This comes following the museum’s recent name change from last year, with the change meant to match the name of the region.
Assistant Curator of the Museum Mary Williams says they decided to run the contest as a way for the community to get more involved with the museum.
“So we thought that opening it up to the public to come up with designs that they feel represent their region and their museum would be great,” said Williams.
“By having the public be able to vote on the submissions in the end, would also give them a lot of say over what their museum is representing.”
The museum suggests artists use blue, green, and yellow color schemes, with themes of coastal, forest, and local cultural significance included in the designs.
Once you submit your design, the museum will hold it until the end of the submission period, which is set to run from September 6 to November 8.
The top four designs will be picked by the staff, with two voting rounds set for later this year.
The first will run from November 20 to 24, and the second will be from November 27 to December 1.
The winner will be announced on December 6, with the artist getting both a $100 grand prize, and a free, one-year admission to the museum along with the other three top artists.
