The Powell River Regional District has brought in a new policy to limit the use of pesticides for cosmetic purposes.
City Councillor Russell Brewer says the policy is similar to those in other communities in B.C.
Brewer says herbicides will still be available to staff to use to try and control invasive plants.
Brewer says if homeowners notice invasive plants on their property, they should contact the Invasive Species Council to get advice on the best way to remove them.
