The community gathered together at Simms Park in Courtenay on Sunday as Alison Azer thanked residents for their tremendous support as she continues to implore the Federal government to bring her abducted children back home to Canada.
It’s been a year since Azer’s 4 kids were taken by their father and brought to the Middle East. Azer says Iran has been cooperative, but the Canadian government needs to step up.
Azer does note however, that she has received strong support from Courtenay-Alberni MP Gord Johns.
A petition is available online, urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to call Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to ensure the safe return of the Azer children.
