BC Conservation reminding users to follow rules of off-road vehicles

Conservation officers are reminding people to follow the rules when it comes to off-road vehicles.

Deputy Chief Chris Doyle of the BC Conservation Officer Service says it’s one of the focus areas of enforcement for the service.

Doyle says conservation officers are also focusing on the Wildlife Act and the Fisheries Act. He reminds registration of off-road vehicles is mandatory, as is wearing an approved helmet.

Doyle is also reminding people to properly manage attractants for bears….

He says they have responded to more than 5000 human – wildlife conflicts since September 1st – most of which were preventable.
