Regals edged out after three overtimes in Coy Cup final

The Hap Parker Arena was packed last night for the Coy Cup Final, and it was an epic battle between the Regals and the Terrace River Kings.

The Regals had the upper hand for most of the match, holding a 3-2 lead into the third period. But halfway through the third, Terrace scored to tie up the game.

With less than 5 minutes on the clock, Powell River took the lead again, but their momentum was broken by Terrace’s fourth goal of the night.

They finished regulation time in a 4-4 tie, and duked it out through two overtime periods with no resolution.

Finally, halfway through the third overtime, Carter Shannon scored for Terrace, earning the visiting team their first ever Coy Cup in history.
