Crews are currently working to clean up debris at Millennium Park.
Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture for the city, Ray Boogards, says the clean-up is a way to remove branches and other debris that could spark up a fire.
Boogards says they’re working alongside BC Wildfire Services, and that some dead trees have already been removed. Boogards notes the work is also helping train members of the local fire department.
He adds that there will be a path closure, with personnel manning the trail to reroute users walking at the park.
Boogards says crews hope to have the work done by the end of October.
