Sunbather calls police after an indecent proposal

A woman sunbathing on Willingdon Beach earlier this month called the police after receiving an indecent proposal.

The woman was sunbathing on Sunday, May 19 between 5:30 and 6:30 when a man in his mid to late 50s approached her and engaged in a conversation of a sexual nature. He allegedly had his hands in his pants and propositioned the woman.

She refused, and he left the area.

He’s described as Caucasian, around 5 foot 10, with short gray hair and a gray beard. He had two dogs with him, a white pointer with brown spots and a skinny pitbull cross, and drove away in a dark gray Hummer H3.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Powell River RCMP at 604-485-6255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.bccrimestoppers.com. Callers will remain anonymous.
