Residents concerned about Vancouver Coastal Health facility privatization

The MLA for Powell River – Sunshine Coast is hoping Vancouver Coastal Health pays attention to the community’s concerns over privatization.

The VCH board was in Powell River late last week to gather feedback from residents.

Nic Simons says there is a plan to close two public care facilities and open private one. Simons says residents have raised concerns about the plan.

Simons says he hopes the health authority takes the concerns that have been raised by residents seriously. He hopes all the stakeholders can come together to develop a better plan to serve the health needs of residents on the upper and lower Sunshine Coast.
