The qathet Regional District’s chief administrative officer has been recognized with a leadership award.
Al Radke was recently awarded the local government management association (LGMA) professional service – leadership award, an award given to those who demonstrate leadership qualities and help reinforce the positive role of local government through serving the community.
They say Radke is recognized for his efforts as administrative officer, where his work includes realigning organizational structure and position accountability to avoid burnout, empowering staff to improve, implementing improved workplace safety, remediating the old incinerator contaminated site on Marine Avenue into the Resource recovery centre, and helping to foster and maintain relationships with First Nations.
Board chair Clay Brander says they congratulate Al on a well-deserved achievement.
“Al’s principled approach, dedication to his staff, and commitment to excellence have strengthened the organization’s resilience and viability and solidified regional cooperation and collaboration,” said Brander.
