Starting today, the City of Powell River is implementing Stage 2 water restrictions.
The city says the restrictions help conserve water, with only one hose allowed when watering your lawn.
For those living in odd-numbered addresses, you can water between midnight and 9 am on odd calendar days, while people living in even-numbered addresses can water at the same time on even calendar days.
When it comes to sprinkling outside restricted times, the city says it can only be done with special permits displayed on your lawn.
Outdoor washing of private, non-commercial homes is only allowed if it’s for health and safety purposes, or to prepare a surface for painting.
Vehicles can be washed if it’s done with one hose equipped with a spring-loaded shut off.
