The qathet School District in Powell River has a new school superintendent, for the time being.
Vianne Kintzinger has been hired as Interim Superintendent of Schools. She previously served as assistant superintendent for Central Okanagan Public Schools. She grew up in the Powell River area and is looking forward to returning to the community.
School board chair Jaclyn Miller says Kintzinger’s experience will be invaluable to the district while it goes through a leadership transition.
The Board of Education has hired a professional firm to recruit a new, permanent superintendent. They are now consulting with key groups and hope to have their candidate profile posted in August.
