Changes coming for transit fares in Powell River

Changes are coming to Powell River Transit, as the system moves to electronic fares and payments.

Starting October 1, legacy paper fares including the DayPASS, 10-Ride Tickets, Adult Monthyl Passes, Student and Senior Monthly Passes, Student Semester Passes, and Post-Secondary Semester Passes will be discontinued.

The UMO mobility app will remain, and discontinued services including monthly and semester passes for students and seniors will be available through electronic formats.

Cash and the provincial BC Bus Pass will still be accepted, and legacy tickets will accepted until they are used up.

A new UMO compatible DayPASS Token will be available to support social wellness organizations that offer free or discounted services.
