Free shuttles available for residents to go to Blackberry Fest

With Blackberry Festival on the way, you can plan to take the bus to the event for free.

That comes from Powell River Transit, which says that for the festival, free park and ride shuttles will be available for people to take on August 16, with the first shuttle leaving the Town Centre Mall transit transfer station at 6:00 p.m.

There will be 20-minute intervals for each bus, with other drop-offs and pickups including the corner of Marine and Duncan Street, along Willingdon Avenue, and the Alberni/Algoma bus stop.

Along with the shuttles, expect regular Friday service when taking the bus.

For this year, there will be no fireworks for the festival, according to the City.

The shuttles will be available until 10:00 p.m., with the last departures from the mall being Route 3 Upper Westview at 9:35, Route 2 Grief Point at 10:05, and Route 1 Townsite/Wildwood at 10:35 p.m.
