A three-day enforcement blitz helped take impaired drivers off the roads in Powell River this past weekend.
Officers from Campbell River’s highway patrol team were in Powell River from August 16 to 18, helping local RCMP to target impaired drivers and look for other Motor Vehicle Act infractions.
They issued four 90-day immediate driving prohibitions, two three-day immediate prohibitions, three 24-hour prohibitions, and one 12-hour prohibition.
Officers also issued tickets for speeding and driving without insurance.
Constable Paula Perry says many members of the public passing through the check stops were appreciative of the extra police presence in the community.
