Veteran sports writer Ed Willes will be at the Powell River library next week to present his new book, a history of the Vancouver Canucks.
Willes was a sports reporter for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2020. He covered the NHL and the Canucks extensively during his career, the good and the bad. His book is titled “Never Boring: The Up and Down History of the Vancouver Canucks.”
Willes unpacks the team’s history and its fruitless half-century quest for a Stanley Cup. In his own words, he describes how the franchise has “been haunted by dark and unnatural forces since its inception.”
Willes will be at the Powell River Public Library on Tuesday, November 19 at 7 pm to talk about his book, visit the library’s event page for more information.
