You can support your local athletes just by donating your Christmas tree.
This weekend will see the Special Olympics Annual Tree Mulch fundraiser, an event focused on supporting athletes in Powell River by donating Christmas trees.
On their social media, Special Olympics BC – Powell River says you can drop off your tree either at Mother Nature’s or buy a tag and place the tree on curbside for it to be picked up. Tags can be bought at Mother Nature’s and 32 Lakes Cafe & Bakery.
The fundraiser takes place on January 5, with drop-offs open between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
