Those with chronic health issues can get support by joining a local walking group.
On social media, Powell River Recreation Complex has announced Stronger Together Walk & Talk, a program where those with chronic health issues walk together on the paved pathway around the Complex.
The goal is to support the participants, all while using the walking as a chance for them to talk about current concerns.
Recreation staff say while the program is free, you do need to register by calling them at 604-485-2891.
They say the group meets on Mondays in the lower foyer at the Complex, with the walks running from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The program starts January 6, and wraps up on March 24.
