Powell River RCMP have recently arrested a woman for public mischief.
The incident took place on January 11, where the woman made a 9-1-1 call saying her boyfriend had just assaulted her and needed police and medical assistance.
They say after investigating, officers found out the report was false and was made to divert resources so the woman’s friend could drive back home while impaired.
The woman has since been arrested and released to appear in Provincial Court.
