The qathet Regional Hospital District has adopted the new budget and five-year plan and will focus on constructing and renovating facilities.
According to the district, efforts will be made with the budget to also pay down existing debt for the Willingdon Creek Village Complex Care Facility, and they expect all debt to be paid out in 2034.
Hospital District board chair Mark Gisborne says the budget for the hospital district was designed to keep a focus on healthcare investments while making sure they reduce any impacts on the community with increases through taxation.
“Through the Vancouver Health Authority and qRHD Working Group, we are committed to ongoing collaboration that allows funding requests to be brought forward in a way that supports long-term financial planning,” he says. “By working together, we can continue to strengthen healthcare services for the region now and into the future.”
Currently, the district says they work in partnership with VCH to invest in critical healthcare infrastructure and medical equipment, helping to enhance services and support the well-being of residents across the region.
