Kings seek BCHL throne as puck drops on new season

The Powell River Kings are back.

The puck drops on a new BCHL season tonight, and Powell River begins the year with a pair of home games versus the Prince George Spruce Kings tonight and Saturday.

The Kings come into the 2026-27 season with a new look on and off the ice.

The club is rocking some new threads this season which pay homage to past editions of the franchise, and local fans will get their first look at new head coach Brennan Menard.

Menard joined the Kings over the offseason after spending the last three seasons as head coach of the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Game one of the regular season is set for a 7 p.m. puck drop tonight at the Hap Parker Arena versus the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The two clubs face off again in Powell River Saturday.
