Island Link Partnership connect Hullo Ferry to Campbell River, Courtenay, Parksville

Hullo Ferries and IslandLink Bus Services have partnered to make car-free trips to downtown Vancouver easier for people travelling from Campbell River, Courtenay and Parksville.

Two daily one-way bus routes connecting with Hullo sailings launched Oct. 1.

One bus leaves Nanaimo at 11 a.m. for the North Island, connecting with the 9 a.m. Hullo sailing from Vancouver. Another travels south from Campbell River through Courtenay and Parksville to Hullo’s Nanaimo terminal, connecting with the 11 a.m. sailing to Vancouver.

IslandLink CEO Phillip Morgan said the partnership provides a direct connection between central Island communities and downtown Vancouver.

“We have been asking for this for a while, so it is an exciting day to officially join forces with Hullo to give Vancouver Island residents and visitors an integrated transportation option,” said Morgan. “Connecting our bus routes directly to Hullo’s terminal creates a smooth, hassle-free link between central Island communities and downtown Vancouver, providing convenience for our riders.”

Hullo says it is exploring future expansions with IslandLink that could connect Victoria, the Cowichan Valley, Port Alberni and Tofino to the passenger ferry.

IslandLink fares for the Hullo connections start at $44 one way.
