Somewhere in the neighbourhood of three thousand Powell River residents took part in the Great BC Shakeout yesterday, an effort to raise earthquake awareness and preparedness across the province.
We spoke with Ryan Thoms, Powell River’s Emergency Program Coordinator to find out why this drill is so important…
Thoms says for those who did not participate, the big message is to prepare for your personal situation and understand how to react in times of an earthquake. Drop, cover and hold!
