The city of Powell River is hosting a number of events this summer; attracting tourists and ramping up excitement among residents.
Mayor Dave Formosa says the PRISMA festival was definitely the kick-off for the tourist season.
He notes the events are a way to cater to not just tourists, but residents as well.
The next big event for Powell River is the return of Logger Sports next weekend. The games make a return to the region after an 11-year hiatus. The region also served as one of the stops on the BC Bike Race trail.
