Regals to compete against River Kings for Coy Cup tonight

After a nail-biter of a third period last night, the Regals edged out the Stampeders with one minute to spare.

The Powell River Regals spent most of the game trying to catch up to the Williams Lake Stampeders. Team historian Troy Butler says it was tense, as they trailed 2-1 after the first period and 4-2 by the end of the second.

Trailing 5-3 after the halfway mark, the Regals rallied and scored two quick goals to tie the game up with just 8 minutes left. As the clock started counting down the final minute, Hunter Findlater scored the winning goal.

With the 6-5 win under their belts the Regals take on the Terrace River Kings in a final battle for the Coy Cup tonight at 7:30 p.m.
