POWELL RIVER, B.C. – It’s easier to navigate, and a thousand time better than the old website.
That’s the word from Powell River’s Manager of Recreation, Neil Pukesh, on the new website that has been launched for the city’s parks, recreation and culture department.
“We’re really excited about it. It’s been a long time coming for the department,” he said.
“Our old site was very inadequate, and wasn’t responsive on a number of different platforms, so we’re excited that this new one addresses a lot of those issues.”
He said some of the new features include a listing for all the parks and fields in the region, cultural events and what’s happening at the Evergreen Theatre.
Pukesh noted that the website is mobile-friendly, and easier than ever for residents and visitors to use.
“There’s direct links to the programs that are happening within the recreation department, but also external links to some of our community partners, with some of the ongoing annual events that happen here, such as PRISMA, and Logger Sports,” he said.
“We’ve been listening to our customers over the years, and it was time to make a change and now, people want information faster than ever before, and I think we have provided that through this new website.”
Pukesh said they’re always open to further feedback from residents on the new site, which can be visited at powellriverprc.ca.
