Citizen Budget survey workshop scheduled for Monday

POWELL RIVER, B.C. – The City of Powell River has begun its budgeting process for 2019, and is looking for feedback from residents.

The Citizen Budget survey is now online. It’s a way for residents to provide feedback on how funds should be divided between different city services.

Anyone who has questions or concerns about the survey can attend a public information meeting on Monday, January 21st between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

City staff will be on hand to provide assistance. The survey takes about five to 10 minutes to complete. The information session is free to attend and will take place at the Powell River Public Library.

The Citizen Budget survey will be available online until February 9th.

All input will be reviewed by council, shared with the public and will help with the prioritization of resources, and financial forecasting decisions.

The city is encouraging residents that do not have home access to Internet to visit the library to use their computers, free of charge. Paper copies are also available at the library and at Powell River City Hall.
