The Province is providing $10-million in funding for ground search and rescue crews throughout BC.
Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness Naomi Yamamoto says the funding will help teams buy new equipment. That includes communication devices (likes radios), vehicles and long-line rescue equipment.
Yamamoto says the money will be provided through the BC Search and Rescue Association and Emergency Management BC.
Yamamoto says the money can also be used for training purposes and addressing training needs for search and rescue crews across the province.
