Today marks the start of this year’s Wounded Warrior Run BC. Participants will run 600 km from Port Hardy to Victoria to raise awareness and dispel the stigmas surrounding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental health issues that military members and veterans face.
Spokesperson Allan Kobayashi says everyone deal with their own traumas differently – and this event is a great outlet to bring that up.
Kobayashi says the biggest theme coming out of the run is humans connecting with humans – and helping each other out. Runners are expected to finish the run in Victoria on February 28th. Visit the event’s official website for more information – including how you can help out the cause.
