Powell River Sea Fair will not happen this year. The event has been postponed to 2017.
Spokesperson Jenny Garden says the fair lost its major attraction when West Coast Amusements cancelled all their BC shows, and they also faced competition with several other large events happening around the same time of the year.
Garden says organizers will be working to come up with a plan to allow Sea Fair to go ahead in 2017.
But Garden does note that the parade will still be happening. It will take place on July 23rd.
