The city of Powell River has a new Fire Chief.
Dan Ouellete has retired after 31 years with the Powell River Fire Department, and deputy chief Terry Peters has been named as his replacement.
Peters says he will also serve as the director of emergency services. He has lots in store for the city of Powell River, and will build off the legacy left behind by former Chief Peters.
Peters says he is very happy about the promotion. He has worked 25 years with the department.
Ouellete served as Fire Chief for the last 8 years.
