Powell River Economic Development is working to help employees attract new employees to the community.
Manager Scott Randolph says it began as part of the GP for Me campaign to attract doctors to the region.
He says they have now teamed up organizations like Catalyst Paper to help with recruitment. He says over the next 3 to 5 years, they’re going to have to replace more than half of their work force.
Randolph says if a company like Catalyst Paper is successful, that also leads to success in the long run for the entire community.
Randolph says they are working to create profiles, materials, and social media content to help support employers to promote the region as a place to work.
