New lighting coming for walking path in Heritage area

The City of Powell River is looking for a contractor to install pedestrian lighting along a path in the Heritage Townsite district.

The 400-metre-long path runs along Marine Drive, bordered by trees and a garden on one side and houses on the other. The city is looking to install lighting along a 200-metre section of concrete pathway that connects Ash Ave and Chestnut St, just south of the Patricia Theatre.

A request for proposals posted on the city’s website calls for 10 lamps designed to illuminate the pathway with focused lamps. The city wants the work to be completed this fall.
