Residents are being reminded to properly manage attractants to avoid conflicts with bears.
Francine Ulmer, Powell River Coordinator with Wildsafe BC says now is the time of year that people need to be especially careful.
Ulmer says other things like barbecues and compost can also attract bears.
She says if you see a bear in your neighborhood, you should contact conservation officers.
