Memorandum of Understanding between Powell River and UVIC set for council meeting

A memorandum of understanding between Powell River and the University of Victoria is on the docket for Thursday’s council meeting.

According to the agenda, the Director of Planning Services Jason Gow will present a report to council, which will focus on the city entering an agreement with the university’s Community Belonging Research Team.

The partnership would support a project dedicated to improving disabled children’s participation in Powell River by taking a community-wide approach, with the research team set to manage the project.

The report adds that if the memorandum is approved and signed by the city, it will help secure funding for the team to work on the project.

The meeting is taking place in Council chambers on Thursday November 16 at 7 pm.

A livestream of the meeting will be available on the City’s website.
