RCMP partner with ICBC to combat impaired driving

To combat impaired driving over the holidays, the Powell River RCMP and ICBC are teaming up urge drivers to be responsible and plan for a safe ride home.

RCMP say they will be out looking for impaired drivers and removing them from roadways.

“If you drink, don’t drive and plan ahead to get home safely by assigning a designated driver or arranging for a safe ride of your holiday festivities include alcohol or drugs,” said the RCMP in a statement.

Services are available in Powell River to help you get home safely. Powell River Taxi will be running until 1 a.m. on the weekends and until midnight on weekdays throughout December.

Police add Dry Grad is also offering a safe ride home for holiday events. It must be set up in advance and dry grad drivers will drive all party-goers home in your own vehicles.
