South Coast Flood Watch Ends

The BC River Forecast Centre has ended the flood watch that was issued Monday for the Sunshine Coast.

Rivers were expected to rise quickly as the result of an atmospheric river that brought heavy rain to the area starting Monday, and peak flows were expected to occur yesterday and today.

The storm also raised freezing levels in the mountains which would increase the possibility of snow melting and rain falling on snow.

For Vancouver Island, a high stream flow advisory issued on Monday has also been cancelled.

There are currently no advisories or warnings posted for the Sunshine Coast or Vancouver Island at this time.
