Powell River Mounties are reminding people to lock car doors.
Sergeant Kevin Day says police have received several reports of thefts from vehicles in recent days. He notes the thefts have occurred overnight and it appears the vehicles were left unlocked.
Day notes that these are crimes of opportunity and the easiest way to prevent the thefts is to make sure car doors are kept locked. He says you should also ensure valuables are not left in plan view.
Any incidents like this should be reported to the RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
