The City of Powell River has provided an update on its Sea Walk restoration project.
The city said fieldwork was completed in April and a final report has been submitted to the B.C. Archaeology Branch for review and acceptance.
The city hopes to issue a tender for the restoration work by mid-July, with a goal of awarding the contract by the end of August.
Restoration work could begin in mid-September and be completed by October if the B.C. Archaeology Branch approves the project before the end of August.
“This revised timeline is about a month later than what was previously reported in the Property Tax Notices,” said the city in a statement. “Because work cannot begin without approval from the BC Archaeology Branch, our start date depends on their timeline.”
