Vancouver Island Library reaches agreement with union members

The Vancouver Island Regional Library has reached an agreement with its union members.

The members of CUPE 401 have now ratified the contract.

Spokesperson Ian McLean says the five-year deal will provide stability for both workers and the library board. He says both sides want to move forward and foster their relationship that will allow them to work together and serve the public in a positive manner.

The deal covers 200 workers on Vancouver Island and the Central Coast.
