A Powell River City Councillor is feeling optimistic following the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities Convention.
Maggie Hathaway represented the city at the conference. She says all coastal communities face similar challenges and its important to get together and share ideas.
She notes how impressed she is that communities on Vancouver Island understand the isolation of Powell River and how it affects the region.
Hathaway says one item of note was the discussion on the future of rail on Vancouver Island.
