Getting set for Canada 150

The City of Powell River is looking for someone to help organize local Canada 150 celebrations. Next year marks the country’s 150th anniversary.

Councillor CaroleAnn Leishman says they are looking for someone to help connect the local events with the national initiatives. She says the theme of the Canada 150 is to engage and inspire youth, diversity and inclusion, the environment and national reconciliation.

The deadline for submissions is next Friday. For further details on the Canada 150 initiatives, visit the government of Canada’s website.
